Project 1: Civilization Timeline- Humanity in Motion
Timeline Topic: December 5th, 2016 50 points
For this quarter's project you will be creating a timeline based on a topic of your choosing. Your topic has to be between the beginnings of Civilizations and the end of the Middle Ages, 1500. It can be about any aspect of life and history that interests you. You need to turn in 2-3 sentences explaining what you are wanting to look at. This can be done either, hard copy in the appropriate basket or through e-mail: [email protected].
Timeline Annotated Bibliography: December 21st, 2016
The next step in this project is to identify scholarly sources to help you see the progression of your topic over time. In order to show what sources you have chosen to use, you need to turn in a annotated bibliography. This is set up using the Purdue Owl: Chicago Style Documentation link below. You need to have at least two of the required five sources within your bibliography. These sources need to have a paragraph with each explaining what information is found within them and how you will be using them within the timeline. Remember a paragraphy is 6-8 sentences. More detail you give me the more I can help you.
Timeline Abstract: January 6th, 2017
This step in the project is where you will explain what your timeline is going to show and how you are going to show it. It needs to be at least a paragraph in length. It needs to explain how you have used your sources and the historical significance, according to you of your topic. Remember a paragraph is at least 6-8 sentences. The more information you give the more I can see where you are going and help you finish it.
Final Timeline and Chronology: January 13th, 2017
This is your final product. You need to turn in a timeline with a chronology of the events within the timeline. Each timeline should have at least ten events that are connected with or show how your topic changed or evolved over time. Please see the rubric below for how the points for the final product will be awarded.
Remember that you can use Purdue Owl: Chicago Style Guide to help with your bibliographies.
