World War One Actor Report
For this assignment you will be required to chose one person who was there on the Western Front of the Great War to research. You can use the following website to help you. World War I was the greatest conflict in which the entire world found themselves affected in someway. You may chose which army and also which type of actor within the army to focus on. For example you could chose to focus on the American dough boys, or generals, British military forces or the German infantry. The goal of this assignment is present a descriptive re-telling of their experiences during the events of World War One.
Harlem Renaissance Research
For this assignment each student will chose one significant person from the Harlem Renaissance to research. You will not just be looking at their lives but also their contributions to the development of the African American identity, that is the Harlem Renaissance. This project will begin by choose a name from the list of notable figures on the wikipedia information site. You will need to also use the Library of Congress website to find one primary source about your person. This can be a copy of one of their original works or insights from another person of the time. This assignment must be at least two pages in length and follow the given guidelines for Chicago Style documentation. This will be due February 2nd in class in hard copy or by e-mail.
1930's Power Point Presentation
For this assignment each student will be creating three slides for a class Power Point Presentation. This presentation is on the Great Depression and the American people in the 1930's. You will begin your research on the Digital History website. This will give you an over view of the events and issues of the Great Depression Era. From there you can do a specialized search in google. I would suggest subtopics such as Crime, Dance, Photography, Politics, Music, Sports, Literature, etc. You will have time to do this in class and your slides need to be shared with Mrs. Winslow no later than Tuesday February 16th. We will be using this information to discuss the 1930's as a class.
